Nethili Varuval / Dry Anchovies fry

Nethili varuval
 Anchovies are rich in omega 3 fatty acids, proteins and other nutrients. Omega 3 fatty acids are healthy unsaturated fats that lowers inflammation and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. Anchovies are rich source of iron.

Ingredients:

  • Dry Anchovies –  1o-15 no
  • Turmeric powder -  1tsp
  • Chilly powder – 1tsp
  • Coriander powder – 1tsp
  • Oil – 2tsp


Procedure:

  1. First clean the dry fish with water for2 to 3 times.
  2. Immerse the dry fish in hot water for 15min and then drain the water.
  3. In a pan heat oil, add anchovies, turmeric powder, chilly powder and coriander powder.
  4. In a medium heat, fry fish until crisp.

Note: Dry fish is already salty, no need to add salt while cooking. Usually dry fish available in stores are cleaned , heads and tails are also removed, if not remove it before cooking.
